For anyone that is interested in coaching for any RYHA team during the 2020-2021 season, we wanted to make sure that received information regarding some limited time offers regarding your coaching needs for the upcoming season.
Recently USA Hockey sent out a correspondence (click here to read) that explained that coaching clinics will not be scheduled until it is deemed safe to do so due to COVID-19 restriction. Therefore they have offered a limited time solution that we strongly encourage all of you to take advantage of.
All Level 1-4 coaching certification clinics will only be held VIRTUALLY for the time being. A list of virtual clinics can be found HERE on the USA Hockey website. These clinics can host 30-50 coaches in any one session.
Additionally, and more importantly, USA Hockey has offered a ONE TIME waiver for any current coach to maintain their current certification for the 2020-2021 season. However, this requires that you take advantage of the waiver BEFORE JUNE 30, 2020. This means that you can maintain your current coaching certification without attending any virtual or in-person clinics this year.
To take advantage of the one-time waiver, you must visit the USA Hockey site by clicking HERE. Please note that you will need to register for your 2020-2021 USA Hockey number PRIOR to completing the waiver. The cost to register with USA Hockey is $47 ($46 plus $1 for MN Hockey). The cost for the one time waiver is $50.
If for any reason you decide to still attend an online clinic after completing the waiver, you can still do so for no additional charge after registering for the waiver.
